    What is face-to-face counselling?


    Face-to-face counselling and psychotherapy provides you with a confidential opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, secure environment. Counsellors/psychotherapists are non-judgemental and are trained to detect self-defeating behaviours and other patterns of behaviour that can cause inner conflict, negative thought patterns and beliefs. Their role is to help you look for and overcome any issues you may have, to be healthier and happier with the right support.

    The terms ‘counselling’ and ‘psychotherapy’ are often used as though they are different things but both simply mean to help someone by using psychological means. Despite this said, counselling is generally regarded for shorter-term, less deep-rooted issues and psychotherapy for more complex and deep-seated issues. I work with clients in a variety of ways including CBT; my counselling style being conversational and informative.  I also use an integrative approach, which means that I use an approach suited to each client rather than a “one size fits all”  approach. My role, is to help you through this process without any judgement or directly telling you what to do.  I may on occasion give useful information and offer suggestions; if at any time I feel I cannot help you in some way, I will offer to refer you to someone who can.  I encourage clients to be autonomous and to discover their own strengths helping them to have the knowledge and internal resources to enable to them to do so.

    What is online counselling?


    Online counselling is particularly useful if you live further away, work abroad or travel frequently and have difficulty accessing my office in London. Online counselling via Facetime or Skype can be beneficial, done at a time and place that suits you, even from the comfort of your own home. whilst using the internet as a mode of communication may have seemed somewhat unconventional a few years ago, online counselling is an effective, confidential and convenient alternative to face-to-face sessionsI work successfully with both individuals and couples online; aiding a wide range of issues including stress, depression, grief, confidence and relationships. I primarily use webcam skyping for online counselling which provides many benefits:
